It would be cliché to me to start this spa review with a mention of how relaxing and peaceful the spa is. Frankly, all spa’s are supposed to be relaxing and peaceful. When I write a review like this, I always ask myself what makes this spa unique and different from all the others? The Spa at Salamander Resort strives to be unique to you. Its primary mission is to provide you with an individual experience tailored specifically to your needs to enhance your wellbeing.
Spa at Virginia’s Salamander Resort
I was already very relaxed and at peace from my stay at the Salamander Resort and Spa in Middleburg Virginia, a beautiful resort located in the heart of Virginia’s horse and wine country. The spa at the resort is a must do when staying here.
Some of the spa’s facilities are available (adults aged 18+ only) as part of your room stay at the resort. You can spend a maximum of 2 hours enjoying facilities like the Vitality Pool & Waterfall, Heated Tepidarium Chairs, Experiential Shower and the Aromatherapy Steam Room. If you want to stay longer, they have a nominal hourly fee.
The Spa also has a heated spa infinity pool with deck chairs and cabanas all with a spectacular view of the forest that surrounds the resort.
The Spa at Salamander Resort Treatments
The spa at the resort is massive (over 23,000 square feet) and includes 14 treatment rooms. Guests can enjoy treatments like body wraps, scrubs, hot stone massages and facials.
One treatment of interest is the self-applied Rasul treatment. It is a Hammam-inspired therapy. If you read my review of the Hammam Spa at the Shangri-la Hotel in Toronto, I pointed out that uncomfortable feeling of lying naked in front of a stranger to get a full body scrub applied. Here at the Salamander Resort’s spa, you can have a similar experience but in your own private Hammam.
Of course, the spa also features a full-service salon with hair, make-up, manicure and pedicure stations.
Couples Room and Treatments
Enjoy a couples experience in the couples treatment room. The room has two treatment beds, a huge soaking tub and a quiet relaxation room for two.

The spa features products by Zents which is an excellent fit for both brands, who both inspire personal healing and customizing their benefit to you. I was travelling carry-on only, or I would have picked up a few boxes of these fantastic creams.
