I feel like I’m the only guest at the resort and I have the entire grounds all to myself. It’s 5:30 AM and as I walk around, I realize it’s just me and the crew getting the golf course ready for the day. Around me is the sound of running water and birds chirping. I walk along the paths meant for the golf carts as the sun rises behind me. I know this is the perfect start to my day in Dallas after the most restful sleep in my golf course facing villa at the Four Seasons Las Colinas resort in Dallas Texas.

Dallas Four Seasons Resort at Las Colinas

Located just outside downtown Dallas, the Four Seasons Resort at Las Colinas is the perfect luxury getaway. Away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city in the quiet suburb of Las Colinas, this resort will ensure a relaxing getaway.

Four Seasons Resort Dallas – Accommodations

There are many different types of accommodations at the resort including rooms and suites in the Tower (main building) or inside one of the many smaller buildings which house the Villa Suites.

Four Seasons Resort at Las Colinas – Villa

My room happened to be in one of the newer villas located near the Family pool. My villa suite was on the second floor with a tremendous open-air terrace overlooking the golf course. This was a great location that was quiet and away from a lot of the traffic closer to the main building.

A significant feature of the room was the terrace doors which could be opened with the shutter doors to allow for some fresh air inside the suite. There were two large comfy chairs on the balcony and a small table.

Sitting area inside room at Four Seasons Dallas

The villa suite had a comfy couch creating a small sitting area in the room. There is also a desk to work on for those on business, and I was thrilled that there were lots of charging stations for electronics in the room – including a spot near the bed and on the desk.

A couple of surprises for me included the old drip coffee maker in the room. I don’t want to sound like a spoiled travel writer, but I guess my expectation of a Four Seasons is to have good coffee in the room with upgraded appliances like a Keurig or Nespresso machine. The other surprise was that there was no full-length mirror in the suite. How’s a girl going to get ready without a look in a full-length mirror?

Bathroom with soaking tub

Fear not, however, the bathroom was fully equipped with two sinks, a large soaking tub and a shower stall. There were also lots of bath and beauty products available if needed. Even with the lighting over the sinks and the lighted magnification mirror, the bathroom was a bit dark when getting ready in the morning.

The Four Seasons Resort – Fitness Facilities

One of the reasons I was wandering around the golf course at 5:30 AM was because the gym did not open until 6:30 AM on the weekends. A bit of a shock as again you’d expect a Four Seasons Resort would have a 24-hour gym or accommodate business professionals with early morning gym hours. The gym hours are 5:30 – 10:00 on weekdays and 6:30 – 9:00 on weekends.

That said, the gym is spectacular! There is no shortage of equipment or fitness activities available in the fitness centre. In addition to the 18-hole championship golf course, the fitness centre features indoor and outdoor tennis facilities, spa facilities, a fully stocked gym, racquetball and squash courts, half-court basketball and a professionally managed child care centre.

Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas – Pools

There are two outdoor pools at the Four Seasons Resort Dallas. The first is located by the main pool. I did not have an opportunity to relax there however it features a cute little poolside Mexican bar and lots of small spots to hide away and relax.

The Family pool is located on the outer edge of the resort past the fitness facilities and features a sandy beach. I did get a chance to relax here and loved that it was out-of-the-way, like a little taste of paradise. It was the end of the day, and I practically had the entire pool area to myself! There were lots of chairs, umbrellas available at the pool and towel service in a little hut near the beach.

Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas – Dining

I only had one meal at the resort, and that was breakfast. We ate in the Cafe on the Green located in the Tower Building.

A beautiful spot with lots of options, including freshly squeezed fruit juices and an impressive menu with a little Texas flare.

The staff throughout the resort is lovely and helpful. They were always happy to accommodate picky requests – including dietary restrictions.

Lobby Four Seasons Resort Las Colinas

There are some lounges to escape to as well and some seating in the hotel’s lobby. This is an excellent resort for golfers, families or just those who love luxury accommodations.

Personally, if you can, book a villa suite, I highly recommend it. They are located a little off the way from the main activity surrounding the main building. I wish I had more time to explore the resort and take in some more of its luxury, but I had a full itinerary during my whirlwind Dallas adventure.
